## What is Identity Access Management? ##

Identity access management is the process of providing access to appropriate data/information only to the intended audience(s) through a secured network which is authorised and authenticated using defined policies and tools.

## What is Authenticate, Authorize and Accounting? ##

- Authenticate – Is a unique information/data which differentials the audience from each other to prove the identity of oneself. (Userid/Password/Fingerprint)

- Authorize – Capability of enforcing the policies on the resources/data through authentication (Granting/Denying access)

- Accounting – Means of monitoring the user activities over the data accessed through the network. (Event logs/User activity monitoring)

## Why is AAA Important while implementing IAM? ##

AAA is a framework to ensure controlled access to the data/information through a network. It is embedded in the IAM tool to manage the assets /information and to maintain the system security.
